"These super easy cheese straws make use of store-bought puff pastry and your favorite grated cheese. We use an aged cheddar cheese here, but you could swap in other hard cheeses like Parmesan or even a mix of different cheeses. For more variety, try adding minced fresh herbs, spices, or flavored salts to the cheese straws before rolling and baking. Store them in a resealable freezer bag if you have extra, but these are best eaten warm on the day they’re made."

    Sprinkle half the cheese onto a work surface and lay a sheet of puff pastry over the top. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the puff pastry. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper over the whole sheet, then roll the pastry into a small log.
