And the winner of our community contest is...
Last month, to launch our very first community recipe contest, we asked for your best strawberry recipes to celebrate the summer. The submissions poured in, and now after two weeks of the Kitchen Stories community cooking, discussing and rating your recipes, we’re proud to announce the results.
The Winner
Sarah Radtke’s recipe for strawberry-chocolate cupcakes scooped up the most likes, saves, ratings, and was among the most-cooked of the recipes. We aren’t surprised—we challenge you to find a more creative strawberry-filled dessert. No opportunity to pack in the fruit is missed: Chocolate-dipped strawberries on mousse icing crown the tops of the cupcakes and a gooey strawberry filling waits on the inside. It’s one to celebrate the season with. Congratulations, Sarah!
The Runner-Up
Katharina, who runs the Scandinavian-themed baking blog Wienerbroedblog, tried these fruity snacks for the first time in New Zealand over 20 years ago. She re-created the recipe to introduce the roll-ups, made almost entirely out of fruit, to her German readers. Feedback from our community peaked at “perfect”, so fill your lunch boxes, and treat your kids, friends, and colleagues! Thank you, Wienerbroedblog.
Our Special Team Pick
The experienced Kitchen Stories test team was looking for a recipe that above being tasty, showed originality, and Anja Kordowski’s strawberry dumplings, berundium’s bean brownie, and Jeanette’s strawberry Pimm’s cake are all worth a special mention, but it was carlos’ cheesecake that showed our team that time-tested classics are always worth playing with. The perks of this no-bake cake include a sneaky chocolate layer above the cookie base, as well as a fresh strawberry layer in the center of the cake. Garnished with garden flowers, fresh fruit, chocolate shapes, and sprinkles, carlos’ love for cake crafting impressed us all.
