Peel the pears. Pour wine in a pot and add pears, sugar, cinnamon, and star anise.
Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for approx. 60 min. Turn the pears every 20 min.
Carefully remove the pears from the pot and set aside to cool for approx. 20 min.
Pre-heat the oven to 200°C/390°F. Cut puff pastry in thin strips, then wrap around the pears from the top to the bottom. Brush with egg yolk.
Bake for approx. 20 min. at 200°C/390°F.
Serve with vanilla sauce and enjoy!
