It is a national dish in Lebanon, Israel, Syria, and other middle eastern countries. Hummus is traditionally served with pita bread and alongside tabbouleh, baba ganoush, and fattoush—one of many famous Middle Eastern dishes. But the wonderfully creamy dip is way more versatile than that! It livens up every boring crudité, tastes good on sandwiches and wraps, and just adds a subtle kick to anything it is served with.
Add chickpeas, garlic, tahini, olive oil, water, lemon juice, and cumin to a food processor and season with salt and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy. Transfer hummus to serving bowl and garnish with parsley, a drizzle of olive oil, and a sprinkle of chili flakes. Enjoy!
